Chhabi Mishra

CEO & Design Principal Chhabi Mishra holds a degree in Architecture from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, University of Bombay (1981), and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from University of Wisconsin, Madison (1994). She brings to the firm wide-range of professional experience of over 15 years in the U.S.A and 10 years in India in cutting edge landscape design and architecture firms. Currently, she heads our newly established landscape design practice.

Prior to joining SK Das Associated Architects in 2009, Ms. Mishra worked for many years in the U.S as landscape architect. She was a senior designer at Bosse and Turner, a locally renowned planning and design firm in Austin, Texas. Her experience there includes serving as lead designer for a mixed use development in Addison, Texas. During her tenure with J. Robert Anderson in Austin, TX, as a senior designer/project manager, she designed the interpretive garden for the New LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority) building. Her experience with Atwell Hicks, an A&E Firm based in Ann Arbor, MI included front end planning and design, client communication and approval process.  She has worked on master planning projects for Louisiana State University (LSU), Baylor University, Michigan State University, Michigan Tech, Texas Tech, and St. Mary’s College.

She is trained and experienced in the design and implementation of healing/therapeutic gardens for healthcare facilities. Her many planning and design projects include The Boardwalk Trail on Lady Bird Lake for the City of Austin. She was also a senior planner with the City of Austin, Neighborhood Planning and Zoning Department (Urban Design Group).

Ms. Mishra’s experience with SmithGroup JJR, one of the pioneers in campus planning and landscape architecture, includes design and project management with a focus on campus master planning for education and healthcare campuses.  She has worked on master planning projects for Louisiana State University (LSU), Baylor University, Michigan State University, Michigan Tech, Texas Tech, and St. Mary’s College.  During her tenure with SmithGroup JJR, she also worked on projects focusing on property development, parks and recreation, and land planning.
